Adventure Island 4 Game

Known in Japan as Master Takahashi's Adventure Island 4, this side-scrolling platform game released in 1994 is the final installment of the Adventure Island series for NES. While the character's girlfriend Tina was the one who was kidnapped in the third release, Adventure Island 4 begins with a plot where Higgins's five dinosaur friends were kidnapped by a giant eggplant monster who looks more like a witch doctor. From this storyline, Higgins is set for an adventure to rescue his five dinosaur friends one by one each trapped in five different worlds.

Adventure Island 4 employs similar controls as the previous versions. One button is for jumping while the other button is for using the current weapon at hand. By holding down the button for throwing weapons while moving forward, the character is able to run faster. At the very start of the game, Higgins would have to use bones as weapons. Two heart containers that gauge the vitality of the character must be replenished from time to time by collecting fruits found in the island.

Rock, Fire, Ice, Water, and Sky are the five worlds that Higgins has to conquer in order to save his dinosaurs. Upon finishing a world, the character is granted new abilities and is able to call on the assistance of the saved dinosaur. The five dinosaurs are Spade, Heart, Club, Diamond, and Star each with its own unique attacking attributes. The sixth and final world is where the final boss resides. Several items can be collected along the way that will further enhance the character's abilities.
