Nintendo game - Antarctic Adventure

Konami developed the Artarctic Adventure NES game. This game was first developed for MSX in 1983 and was later released for the Nintendo game console. In the game, the player takes on the role of a penguin from the Antarctic.

The player can play this racing game in either single player mode or in alternating multi player mode. The point of the game is for the player to get the penguin to different research stations throughout Antarctica. The stations are all owned by various countries.

The game's protagonist is a penguin named Penta. He is racing to reach all of the research stations before the time runs out. Through the race, the player will encounter obstacles and pitfalls they must avoid. Some of these problems include sea lions, and breaks in the ice. Both of these things that can slow the player down.

As the player makes their way through the Artarctic Adventure NES game, there are fish that will jump out from holes in the ice. If the player can catch these fish, they are worth bonus points. As with many of the earlier games, there is no ending to this video game. Once the player reaches the final research station, the game simply resets. It starts the player back at the first level, and the difficulty increases each time the player makes it to the final station. There is a follow up to this game called Penguin Adventure. It was released in 1986. The protagonist in the sequel is Penta's son, Pentarou.
