Nintendo game - Blaster Master

Sunsoft published the Blaster Master NES game in 1988. This is a single player game. It is a platforming, run and gun type of video game. The main character is named Jason. He has a pet frog that he follows down into a hole. Inside this hole, he finds a large cavern with an armored tank. The tank is named SOPHIA THE THIRD. Jason uses the tank to fight radioactive mutants while he searches for his pet frog, Fred.

This game contains eight levels, and as you go through them, there are two different modes of play. In the first mode, you are controlling SOPHIA from within the tank. In the second mode, the player is controlling Jason while he is outside of the tank. The goal is to make it through all eight levels, while destroying all the mutants and bosses.

While playing the Blaster Master NES game, the player can take advantage of several weapons. There are guns and grenades. From inside the tank, the player can use the primary cannon or one of three special weapons. The first special weapon is a homing missile. The second special weapon is Thunder Break. This fires a lightening bolt that causes a high amount of damage. The third special weapon is a Multi Warhead Missile. It fires three missiles at the same time. Jason and SOPHIA each have a power meter, and if either one depletes completely, the player loses a life. There are power capsules throughout the levels to keep the meter up. Players get five chances to start the game at the spot where they lost their life.
