The Castevania series is one of the most popular and recognized ones in the gaming industry. The first game, Castlevania was a huge hit, and that meant Castlevania 2 had some big shoes to fill. Luckily, it did not disappoint.

You play Simon Belmont, who killed Count Dracula in the first game. However, you find out Dracula has left a curse on you, and you must end it before time runs out. You have to do this by finding the five parts of Dracula's body, and destroying them.

This game is much more RPG oriented than the previous one. For starters, you can go into villages and talk to people. From villagers, you can regain health, get weapons, and even find clues that will help you on your quest. You will need all the help you can get. Vampires, werewolves, and zombies are not easy opponents. Luckily, you find silver weapons to vanquish your foes, alongside garlic, and of course, your trusty whip.

This game has an interesting mechanic of using day and night phases. At night, monsters are much stronger, and it is more dangerous to venture out into the world. Some clues and items are not always available during the day, so sometimes you must put yourself in more peril.

Castlevania 2 is a fantastic game. It provides fun action, with a mix of role-playing and puzzle solving. Take on the role of Simon Belmont, and get rid of Dracula's Curse before the evil count destroys you for good!
