Dig Dug Game

Dig Dug online is an adaptation of the famous NES game of the same title. Dig Dug, originally published in 1982 for the Namco Galaga hardware, made its way to the NES gaming technology sporting a very similar gameplay. A stationary platform game where 90% of the screen is a view of the underground, the character named Dig Dug dressed in white and blue burrows through layers of the earth to look for monsters and exterminate them.

To play Dig Dug, players must burrow beneath the ground using the character's shovel. Monsters situate underground and must be strategically approached since being in physical contact with them could kill Dig Dug. If the character gets a good aim at the monster, then the player must release the extendable hose that injects air into the monster and inflates it until it bursts. Monsters can easily recover from partial inflation so that Dig Dug has to inflate them all throughout until they burst. While being inflated, monsters are unable to move allowing Dig Dug to continue the process. However, some other monsters might begin to approach the character especially in the later stages where more of them appear. Monsters would also be more resilient and faster as Dig Dug progresses across the levels.

Rocks, which are as big as the characters themselves, can be used to kill the monsters. By digging underneath the rock, it would fall and crush anything under it. To achieve higher scores in every stage, Dig Dug must destroy the enemies in the fourth layer of soil as quickly as possible.
