Nintendo game - Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde

The Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde NES game was released in 1988. It was developed by Toho and published by Bandai. The premise for this game is based on a novel with a similar title. The storyline is that Dr. Jekyll is on his way to marry Miss. Millicent, and as he makes his way to the church, he is accosted. Several of the townspeople, animals and various other nuisances make him angry. If his anger level reaches a certain point, he transforms into Mr. Hyde. Once his anger subsides, he returns to Dr. Jekyll.

This is a single player, side scrolling action game. Throughout the game, the player will alternate between playing as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The game has six different stages. You start out as Dr. Jekyll, on your way to the church. As you are attacked, your life meter decreases and your anger meter fills up. If your life meter fully depletes, the game is over. If your anger meter completely fills, you become Mr. Hyde. At that point, you must kill as many monsters as possible to transform back into Dr. Jekyll. If you reach any of Dr. Jekyll's locations as Mr. Hyde lighting will kill him instantly. The point is to go as far as you can as Dr. Jekyll, and when you do transform, change back as soon as possible.

The Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde NES game has two endings. In one ending, Dr. Jekyll arrives at the final level and gets married. The other, you reach the end as Mr. Hyde. In this situation, you must defeat a final boss named Letule. When you defeat the boss, you transform. You then get married as Dr. Jekyll.
