Kirby's Adventure Game
Known as Kirby of the Stars: The Story of the Fountain of Dreams in Japan, Kirbys Adventure follows the triumphant journey of Kirby across the seven worlds to collect the seven scattered pieces of the Star Rod. The Fountain of Dreams is where fantasies are met during sleep, and these dreams are granted through a Star Rod, which King Dedede has stolen and has given the pieces to his allies.
Kirbys Adventure is side-scrolling platform game where Kirby travels from one world to another via the Warp Door. In every world, there are mini-games, museums, or arenas where the main character could gain extra lives, certain powers, or health items. Upon defeating a boss, Kirby would be able to copy the special ability to be used against the subsequent enemies.
The main objective of the game is to reach the end of every stage maneuvering the character so as to avoid contact with another enemy or any dangerous object. Food items replenish the vitality of Kirby and certain collectibles grant the character vulnerability. Kirby moves by walking, running, and jumping over obstacles. For attacking and dodging enemies, he can perform the slide-tackling maneuver. He can also inflate himself and then fly to any height. The inflating process could also suck any enemy in front of him which can be used as another form of attack. Aside from killing an enemy by sucking it inside, Kirby would also copy the ability of that enemy. At the end of the game, a twist in the storyline is revealed where King Dedede would reconcile with Kirby.
