Monopoly Game

Based on the classic board game known as Monopoly published by Hasbro and created by the Parker Brothers, Monopoly NES was built on the same economic concept where players rival each other towards the domination of the real estate market. Released in 1991 by Sculptured Software, Monopoly Nintendo brought the same level of excitement into the digital world of video gaming.

In Monopoly NES, two players compete against each other. The third player and so on may be controlled by the computer itself. The platform consists of forty spaces that represent the landscape of the entire estate occupied by a total of 28 properties, composed of 22 colored streets, four railroads, and two utilities. Three Chance spaces grant the player tokens that he can use to his advantage depending upon the kind of card drawn. At other times, the Chance card might lose certain amounts to parking fees, school tax, and other expenses. With similar function as the Chance spaces, three Community Chest spaces also occupy the game board.

The main objective of the game is to monopolize the entire estate by building wealth from the estate properties while avoiding unnecessary expenses. Of course, achieving the objective depends on luck and strategy. Weighing out the uncontrolled situation to yield the best outcome is the single most effective strategy to win the game. Knowing the long-term trends and tradeoffs of the properties can also improve the chances of winning. In Monopoly NES, players get to practice their natural talents in investing wisely.
