Nintendo game - North & South

You can now play the North & South game online in all of its former glory! Capture enemy forts, engage in battles, and avoid dangerous obstacles as you fight your way through the American Civil War. The classic Nintendo video game, developed in 1989, combines action and strategy into a lighthearted mix that might be a bit more cartoon-ish than the actual war.

Choose the side you want to fight for, the Union or the Confederacy, and which year of the war you want to start. During battle, you pit your units - cavalry, soldiers, and a cannon - against the enemy, and the winner claims control of the entire state. Be careful, though. While you might be angling to cut off their infantry, their cannon may be tearing your cavalry apart.

Win every state and capture all their forts, and congratulations - you win the war!

In the main menu, you can choose options that will occasionally affect the game. Want the weather to play a part in your battles? Care to see how Indians or Mexicans might influence the war? You can toggle these additional factors on to add a bit of random scenarios to the game.
