The Prince of Persia NES game was developed in 1992. The game was originally made for the Apple II; this version was released in 1989. It made its way to the NES console within a few years. It was developed and published by Broderbund. This game is the first in the series, which has gained a lot of popularity throughout the years. There is even a major motion picture based on the game.

This platformer game takes place in ancient Persia. The plot is that the Grand Visir Jaffar takes over the land while the Sultan is away at war. Jaffar has captured a young prince. He has imprisoned him in the dungeon. Jaffar attempts to force the prince's love interest, who is the Sultan's daughter, into marrying him. He locks her in a tower and leaves her with two choices, marry him or die. During game play, you take on the role of the nameless protagonist. You must take escape from the imprisonment of the dungeon and stop Jaffar.

During your escape, you must play through twelve levels. These levels are filled with puzzles, traps and guards. On top of all the challenges, you are on a time limit. You only have sixty minutes to play through all twelve levels. You must get through the game and rescue your love interest before the time expires. The Prince of Persia NES game combines a good mixture of puzzles, surprise and action. Because of this, the game has captivated players for years.
