Nintendo game - Shadow of the Ninja

The Shadow of The Ninja NES game was developed by Natsume and released in 1990. This is a side scrolling action game. The plot of the game is futuristic and ninja themed. The game is set in 2029. An evil dictator by the name of Garuda has taken over America. Two ninja masters embark on a mission to get inside his fortress and assassinate Garuda.

Two players can play this game at the same time. One player controls Lord Hayate the male ninja master, while the other player controls Lady Kaede the female ninja master. There are no differences in performance between the two characters.

During game play you can make the characters run, climb ladders, jump, crouch and hang from ledges. If your character has more than half of their life left, you can make the character do a special attack. The attack allows you to summon a storm that harms all the enemies on the screen. However, it does cost half of your maximum life.

A katana is the game's default weapon, but you can trade that for a kusarigama. The kusarigama works better at long-range attacks, while the katana works better for close range. While playing the Shadow of The Ninja NES game, you will have to make your way through five stages. The first four levels are broken up into three segments while the last level is broken into two. If you lose all of your health, the game is over but you get five chances to continue. If you are playing a two-player game, both players must share those five chances to continue.
