game "Star Wars Empire Strikes Back" is loading.....
When the Nintendo gaming console was first released, it was truly the first of its kind. Despite being a step ahead of any video game console made before that time, the graphics for most NES games left a little to be desired. That does not mean that NES games were not a blast to play, simply that compared to today's standards most do not measure up.
The Star Wars the Empire Strikes Back game for the NES was one of those games that was incredibly fun to play, but would have been better served to have first been released in a later generation video game system. The game itself, while employing some pretty basic 2D, 8-bit graphics, did a pretty good job of allowing the player to do battle with the evil empire.
During gameplay, the player takes the helm as Luke Skywalker. The game stays rather true to form with the movie, as Luke does battle in Hoth, goes to meet the Jedi Master Joda on Degobah and try to rescue your friends from an ambush at Cloud City. This particular game was put into sort of an odd predicament because of when it was released. 1992 was the same year that the Super NES began to gain steam. Because of this there was never a Return of the Jedi game made for the NES. There was however a Empire Strikes Back made for the Super Nintendo System that was an improvement on the NES version. Return of the Jedi then followed that edition on the Super NES.
