The TMNT 4 NES game was released for Nintendo in 1992. This scrolling beat ‘em up game is based on the animated series, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This game can be played in single player mode or two-player mode. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Turtles in Time was originally an arcade game that was ported to Nintendo consoles. Konami developed and published this game.

The game begins with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles watching April O'Neil give a news report on the television. Krang, with the use of an exosuit flies in, stealing the Statue of Liberty. Shredder taunts the Ninja Turtles, who immediately jump into action. As they pursue the Foot, Shredder sends the Turtles through a time warp.

Players can choose from controlling any of the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, or Donatello. Each of the four characters has their own strengths and their own weaknesses. Players must guide the characters through several levels. It starts out in New York City, and from there they are transported to different times in history. The characters must face enemies that are common to the animated series and their feature films. This includes foot soldiers, Tokka and Rahzar, and stone warriors. There are also bosses that must be defeated at the end of the levels. The TMNT 4 NES game is another quality installment of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. The players must battle Shedder's army, past and future, in an effort to make it back to their own time.
